~Queen Camilla attends Royal Voluntary Service’s Christmas Lunch at The Amadeus

On December 11, 2024, Queen Camilla graced The Amadeus in Little Venice, London, attending the Royal Voluntary Service’s (RVS) “Festive Spread” Christmas lunch.

This event marked the launch of the RVS’s campaign to host over 70 Christmas lunches across the UK, aiming to bring together individuals who might otherwise spend the holiday season alone.

Dressed in a festive green Anna Valentine jacket paired with a cream blouse and her signature pearl jewelry, Queen Camilla exuded holiday spirit. Despite recovering from a recent bout of pneumonia, she appeared in good spirits, engaging warmly with volunteers and guests.

A highlight of the afternoon was the Queen’s participation in flambéing a massive 10kg Christmas pudding. As she poured a generous amount of brandy over the dessert, she humorously warned attendees to “hold on to your hair” before it was set alight, creating a spectacular blue flame.

In her impromptu speech, Queen Camilla expressed heartfelt gratitude to the volunteers, stating, “As I always say, this country would collapse without you, so we’re eternally grateful for everything you do.”

The event was further enlivened by the presence of celebrity ambassadors Elaine Paige and Felicity Kendal, who joined in celebrating the invaluable contributions of RVS volunteers.

Queen Camilla’s visit not only added royal charm to the occasion but also underscored the importance of community and volunteerism during the festive season. At The Amadeus we were delighted to host this event and we look forward to next years!
